We’ve renewed acquaintances with Ashe Construction Ltd this year securing two projects with them. At Bedford College, following the successful completion of an £850k refurbishment project undertaken directly for the client, Ashe placed a £1 million order for an M&E installation at the colleges central Bedford site. The package was for full mechanical and electrical installation work for the new Advanced Engineering and Construction Centre. In addition we were responsible for the full design, providing value engineered solutions and complete L2 submissions, including compilation of the building log book.
A challenging project working on a live college site capably managed by full time site based project manager Peter Bradburn, who having just completed the £900k heating refurbishment project during the summer for the college, used his broad knowledge to manage the specialist sub-contractors, CCC supply chain, and liaise with the Ashe team to ensure the works were completed in a timely manner. The project was completed in 32 weeks.
Engineering apprentices now have a full range of learning suites to ensure they’re equipped for the challenges and technological advances over the coming years. In addition to the excellent collaborative working relationship delivered with the Ashe team we continued to employ a new Electrical Apprentice from Bedford throughout the duration of the project.
Following the successful completion of the Bedford College scheme we have now been appointed to complete a £300k M&E installation for a new SEAT dealership in Letchworth.
